About Department (Main Activities/Function) :

Introduction

In General Administration Department there are four Divisions. ‘Planning Division’ is one of these Divisions. It relates to Preparation of Outcome Budget. The Decentralized District Planning and 20 Point Programme are also being monitored by this Division. Every year a series of meetings are held by the Planning Division under the Chairmanship of the Hon'ble Minister of Planning / Chief Secretary and after detailed deliberations and review of ongoing plans, taking into account the priorities of the State, assessment of resources and strategic planning to achieve the goals of the Five Year Plan by the Planning Commission of India. Effective plans are formulated by determining the size of the plan for balanced regional development through policy formulation and allocation of strategic plans.

Functions of Planning Division are as Follows:

Formulation of Plans: Five Year Plans and Annual Development Plans Monitoring of state schemes and flagship programme Formulation, implementation and monitoring of Decentralized District Planning Management and administration of staff of the offices of Head of Accounts under Planning Department.

Vision :

The main vision of the Planning Department is to fulfill public aspirations through effective implementation of planned schemes, flagship programmes, 20 point program and decentralized district planning. To ensure sustainable social and economic development through regulation.

Functions :

The four basic parts of the planning process, formulation of plans, implementation, regulation of progress and evaluation of major plans are carried out by the planning department. The approach laid down by the National Development Council (N.D.C.) and the Planning Commission, Government of India, is to prepare Gujarat State Five Year Plans and its part Annual Development Plans, Draft and Final Publications of the Development Program as per the Strategy and prepare the finalized Five Year Plans/Development Program as Budget Publications. The work is done.

Offices of District Planning Officers

The organizational and budgetary functions of the District Planning Officers are done by the Planning Department. The District Planning Officer functions under the direct control of the Collector. District Planning Offices mainly at the district level collective development works undertaken under the decentralized district planning programme, collective development works to be done from the central government grant of honorable members of parliament, meetings of district planning bodies, regulation of decentralized district planning works, long-term annual planning, implementation/regulation of 20 issues of the programme, 49 working on developing talukas and district planning committees. The Civil Rights Letter scheme is in effect in the office of the District Planning Officers.

Integrated Online Junction on Net for Decentralized District Planning:

Planning Division has been spending Rs. 1300 Crore per annum to implement works for the importance of missing links and creating assets for public utility under the various schemes of DDP, ATVT and MP/MLALADS. Thus, for proper utilization of public money, timely completion of works, the state government has introduced the iOjN4Planning Portal which is used for processes such as planning, approvals, monitoring the implementation stages, database management etc. With the aim of delivering the elements of transparency and accountability, all the districts have been mandated to take geo-tagged photographs of each work and upload it on the portal. These uploads would not only show the physical and real status of the site but also the GPS coordinated (Latitude-Longitude), alongside with the time of the photo taken.
